Andrew Bacevich (Author: “Breach of Trust: How Americans Failed Their Soldiers and Their Country”)

Andrew Bacevich is an American political scientist. His work focuses on international relations,security studies, American foreign policy, and America’s diplomatic and military history.  Bacevich is a professor of international relations and history at Boston University, following up a long career in the United States Army. His op-eds have appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, and the Financial Times. Bacevich also currently serves on the Council on Foreign Relations.  His book Breach of Trust examines the divide between the military and the American people, and the effect that constant war has had on the relationship.

Nicholson Baker (Author: “Traveling Sprinkler: A Novel”)

Nicholson Baker is an American author, who writes both fiction and nonfiction. His fictional works focus on his characters’ stream of conscious narration. Baker’s works focus on poetry, literature, library systems, history, politics, time manipulation, youth and sex. His nonprofit organisation the American Newspaper Repository rescues old print media that is in danger of being thrown out of libraries. Baker believes that libraries destroy valuable print resources in favor of needlessly replacing them with microfilm, destroying valuable public and historic information in the process. His most recent book, Traveling Sprinkler: A Novel, tells the story of Paul Chowder, a man who turns to learning the craft of songwriting to help him cope with events in his personal life and in the world at large.

Robert Reich is an American political economist, professor, author, and political commentator. He is the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley and has served in three presidential administrations, those of Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton (as Secretary of Labor 1994-97). He is a frequent political commentator on television and radio, has written many books on American politics and economics, and maintains his own blog on the subject. His upcoming documentary with director Jacob Kornbluth Inequality for All looks at the widening gap income gap in the United States and considers the implications it will have on the nation’s health.

Jake Gyllenhaal (Actor: “Prisoners”)

Jake Gyllenhaal is an American actor, who began acting at the age of ten, with a breakout role in the indie film Donnie Darko . Gyllenhaal has appeared in many films since then, the most famous (and controversial) being Brokeback Mountain. The performance earned him an Academy Award nomination and widespread praise. He is active in politics and has campaigned for Rock the Vote and the American Civil Liberties Union and has an interest in environmental issues. His upcoming film Prisoners follows Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), a man who takes the law into his own hands and captures the man he feels is behind the disappearance of his two daughters. In doing so he clashes with the town’s detective (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Hugh Jackman (Actor: “Prisoners”)

Hugh Jackman is an Australian actor and producer who is involved in film, musical theater, and television (where he met his wife, Australian actress Deborra-Lee Furness). Jackman began his career in television and on stage before landing one of his most popular roles as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. He has since starred in many films and performed on Broadway, and has hosted several award shows, having hosted the Tonys three times and the Academy Awards once. He stars alongside Jake Gyllenhall in his latest movie Prisoners, and will reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Chelsea Clinton is the only child of former US president Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. She is a special correspondent for NBC News and works with her parents’ foundations, the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative. She has campaigned for her mother’s unsuccessful bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2008 election.
