With ‘The Colbert Report’ since is premiere in 2005, Emily Lazar has been promoted from Supervising Producer to Co-Executive Producer, reports ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.

“For over 1,300 shows Emily Lazar has introduced me to people and ideas I never knew I cared so much about. She really makes me seem interesting,” noted executive producer and host Stephen Colbert, whose show usurped the Emmy crown from long-time winner Daily Show at this past year’s awards show. Lazar has been responsible for securing a vast spectrum of guests, from First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton to Hollywood A-listers Matt Damon and Kevin Spacey.

Over at ‘The Daily Show’, Deadline.com reports that veterans Steve Bodow, Adam Lowitt and Jen Flanz have been promoted to Executive Producers. While Tim Greenberg and Hillary Kun have been promoted to Co-Executive Producers, Justin Melkmann to Supervising Producer and Elliott Kalan to Head Writer.

This summer, deranged millionaire John Hodgman will be hosting Indecision in the Park, a free live stand-up show at Central Park’s SummerStage, featuring performances by his Daily Show cohorts Wyatt Cenac, Al Madrigal, John Oliver, Kristen Schaal, executive producer Rory Albanese and co-executive producer Adam Lowitt.

The event will be held rain or shine on Wednesday, June 20 at 8pm. Gates open at 7pm. Enter at Fifth Avenue and 69th Street.

Montclair Film Festival (May 1-6) will open with a special screening of N.J. comedy, The Oranges, and will also feature live participation by special guests including Kathleen Turner, Olympia Dukakis, Michael Moore, Patrick Wilson and Oliver Platt.

The Oranges, opening in theaters this fall, has an ensemble cast that includes Hugh Laurie, Leighton Meester and Oliver Platt.

Festival directors Raphaela Neihausen and Thom Powers selected films from around the world that would showcase Jersey talent. “The heart of filmmaking beats strongly in Jersey,” said Neihausen. “It’s astonishing when you realize how many talented people were born here or now call the state home.

“We sought to curate a selection that plays to the strengths of Montclair,” said Powers. “That includes a comedy section, a strong interest in African-American stories and an engagement with progressive issues.”
