Writers and self-proclaimed satire nerds Sharilyn Johnson and Remy Maisel are pleased to announce their upcoming book Bears & Balls: The Colbert Report A-Z, to be released later this year.
The unofficial fan guide will serve as the ultimate viewer’s handbook, taking fans through notable (and forgotten) moments from the past nine years.
“We’re excited to finally share our encyclopedic knowledge of the Colbert Report in a context that won’t cause people to slowly recoil in fear,” Johnson says.
Johnson is a veteran entertainment journalist and blogger specializing in comedy, whose credits include the Toronto Star, Winnipeg Free Press, NOW Magazine, and the Huffington Post. Despite living in Toronto, she’s travelled to 12 Report tapings, and is thrilled that her 13th will now qualify as a tax writeoff.
Maisel is the co-author of the upcoming book Is Satire Saving Our Nation? Mockery and American Politics. She writes for the Huffington Post and has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and Politico. She maintains that the book is definitely not just an elaborate ruse to justify watching Stephen’s dressage training segment 147 times for “research.”.
