Nate Silver (Author, “The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail — but Some Don’t”)

Nate Silver is an American statistician and writer. He studies baseball and elections, and currently runs ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight blog and a is correspondent for ABC News. Silver created the PECOTA system for predicting performance and development of Major League Baseball players. He has also made predictions of several elections, many of which were correct; notably, he correctly predicted the winner of the 2012 election in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. His book The Signal and the Noise examines the field of statistics and prediction, and what makes some statisticians more successful than others.

Justin Tuck is an American football player and defensive end for the New York Giants in the National Football League. In college, he played for the University of Notre Dame and was drafted by the New York Giants in 2005, with whom he renewed his contract in 2008. As a member of the team, he has been to two Pro Bowls, two All-Pros, and two Super Bowls.

Cris Carter (Hall of Fame player)

Cris Carter is an American football player and Hall of Fame player in the National Football League. During his career, he played wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles (1987-89), the Minnesota Vikings (1990-2001), and the Miami Dolphins (2002). Since retiring from the NFL, Carter has been an analyst on HBO’s Inside the NFL, ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countodown, and Monday Night Countdown. Carter was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on February 2, 2013.

Nancy Pelosi is an American politician, Minority Leader of the US House of Representatives, a representative from the state of California, and a member of the Democratic Party. From 2007-2011, she was the first female Speaker of the House. She joined California’s Democratic National Committee in 1976, and became the chair of the committee in 1981. She was made House Minority Leader in 2002, and was later elected Speaker of the House in 2006.
