This Week in News: Donald Trump made misogynistic and dehumanizing comments about sexually assaulting women in a leaked taped from 2005 when he didn’t realize that his mic was on. Stephen responded to this in a video. It was a topic of the the second Presidential Debate on October 9th. In the past week, many women have bravely come forward and accused Trump of inappropriate behavior towards them. While stumping for Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, Michelle Obama gave a moving speech about Trump’s abhorrent comments, saying, “This is not normal. This is not politics as usual. This is disgraceful. It is intolerable. And it doesn’t matter what party you belong to — Democrat, Republican, Independent — no woman deserves to be treated this way. None of us deserves this kind of abuse.”

The Late Show will again go live on Tuesday, following the vice presidential debate!

While the world reels from Kim Kardashian’s scary robbery at gunpoint in Paris, domestically eyes turn tonight to the less exciting moments of the Presidential race: the debate between the less colorful vice presidential candidates, Governor Tim Kaine and Governor Mike Pence. Hopefully, Team Stephen can make light what will probably be an underwhelming debate. Who knows? We’ll have to tune into find out.

Who are you looking forward to seeing this week? Let us know in the comments.

In Weekend News: After years of claiming that President Obama was not born in the US, Donald Trump conceded on Friday saying, “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period.” So “presidential” of him to state the obvious. He went on to claim that Hillary Clinton actually started the “birther” movement, despite no evidence that she did. Trump continues to be a national embarrassment and liar. Way to go!

Two explosions rocked the North East on Saturday. A device exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey, Saturday morning as about 5,000 runners were set to participate in a 5K Marine charity race. The explosive device went off in a garbage can and was composed of three pipe bombs, only one of which went off. No one was injured in the blast. Then there was an explosion in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The explosion was caused by a homemade bomb that had been placed under a dumpster. 29 people were injured. According to CNN, The Department of Homeland Security is actively monitoring and participating in the investigations in New York and New Jersey. Investigators found similarities between the explosives used in both states, according to multiple law enforcement officials, but authorities said they have not concluded the incidents are linked.

The Primetime Emmy Awards were Sunday night. Congratulations to “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” which won Outstanding Variety Talk Series!

In Weekend News: Sunday marked the 15th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11. President Obama spoke at the 9/11 Memorial Observance Ceremony at The Pentagon, saying, “We come together in prayer and in gratitude for the strength that has fortified us across these 15 years. And we renew the love and the faith that binds us together as one American family.” It is hard to believe that 15 years have passed since this devastating day. May we never forget and come to know peace.

At a 9/11 memorial service in New York City, Hillary Clinton had to leave early and was seen unsteady on her feet as she departed. It seems Clinton has walking pneumonia. After a short rest at daughter Chelsea’s apartment, Clinton emerged just before noon waving to the cameras and saying, “It’s a beautiful day!” Nothing can knock Clinton down! A speedy recovery to you, Ms. Clinton!

Welcome to Season 2 of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert!” Over the past 202 episodes, we have watched the show evolve, laughed until we cried, and cheered on Stephen as he took on this new endeavor. To celebrate further, Thursday marks the one year anniversary of the very anticipated premiere. It is hard to believe that it’s been one year, but time flies when you’re having fun! Reflecting on this past year, I realize the progress that “The Late Show” has made, how hard Stephen and the crew have worked, and how this show has changed the landscape of late night television. Congratulations to Stephen Colbert and the whole crew at “The Late Show” on a fantastic first year!

Happy Labor Day to all of the American Hubsters! Enjoy your day off!

In Weekend News: Marco Gutierrez, founder of the group Latinos for Trump, delivered a cautionary message to Joy Reid on MSNBC, stating, “My culture is a very dominant culture, and it’s imposing and it’s causing problems. If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner.” Is there something wrong with taco trucks on every corner? It sounds delicious to me! Not surprisingly, there was a big sarcastic backlash on social media. #TacosOnEveryCorner rushed to the top of Twitter’s list of trending topics.

Meteorologists on the US East Coast are tracking Hurricane Hermine, which has already battered Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Now officially a “post-tropical cyclone,” Hermine is expected to recover to hurricane strength by Monday morning in the North East. Ari Sarsalari, a meteorologist for The Weather Channel reassured New Jersey residents that Hermine is “not quite like Sandy,” and went on to say, “This is going to be a pretty significant storm. It’s still going to have very significant impacts,” like coastal flooding and beach erosion. Stay safe, East Coast Hubsters.

In Weekend News: Donald Trump wrote an abhorrent tweet on Saturday writing, “Dwyane Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!” One of Trump’s managers, Kellyanne Conway, went on “Fox News Sunday” and did not defend her boss, telling Chris Wallace, “That horrifying example, of a woman who had just signed up her children for school pushing a baby stroller, that is a nonpartisan issue that should sicken us all.”

Beyoncé gave a stunning performance at the Video Music Awards on Sunday and the internet is fired up with a lot of love for her!

In The News: A great deal happened in the past two weeks. All eyes watched as the best athletes in the world competed in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio. The United States took home the most medals – a total of 121. Congratulations to all of the winners from every country.

Donald Trump had a shake up in his campaign when his manager, Paul Manafort, resigned. Trump has now appointed two new leaders who are destined to make America great again: Stephen Bannon, who runs the conservative outlet Breitbart News and Kellyanne Conway, a Republican strategist and pollster. What a pair!

The late night landscape underwent a change as “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” was cancelled after 20 months of being on the air. Wilmore gave a much needed voice to minorities who are underrepresented. His brand of political satire will be greatly missed. Jon Stewart appeared on Wilmore’s final show and highly praised his work. Stephen and “The Late Show” team sent Wilmore a perfect parting gift.
