Metallica  (Movie: “Through the Never”)

Metallica is an American heavy metal band formed in 1981. The current members are: James Hertfield (vocals, rhythm guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (lead guitar), and Robert Trujillo (bassist). The group came to prominence with its first four albums, reached the mainstream with its fifth and has released nine albums overall. They have been ranked as one of the best heavy metal bands, and one of the best rock bands ever by Rolling Stone. Their upcoming IMAX movie Through the Never follows a young roadie named Trip who is given a mission to meet a disabled truck and retrieve a certain item. The plot of the movie is intertwined with footage from Metallica’s 2012 concert series.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Actor: “Don Jon”)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an American actor, director, producer, and writer. He began his career as a child actor, took time off to attend Columbia University, and dropped out to return to acting in 2004. He has since starred in several movies, including (500) Days of Summer, Inception, and The Dark Knight Rises. In 2005, he formed the online collaborative project production company ‘hitRECord’ with his brother Dan, which uses video, music, literature, photography, performance, spoken word, screenwriting, graphic art, etc. from different artists around the world to make various projects and workings such as short films, books, and DVDs. He stars in the upcoming film (which he also wrote and directed) Don Jon as Jon “Don Jon” Martello, a man whose addiction to pornography leaves him wanting more from life. He learns about life and love from relationships with two very different women.

Chris Fischer is the expedition leader for OCEARCH’s mission to protect sharks and other apex ocean predators that keep the ocean’s populations in balance. He has lead 14 expeditions since 2007, traveling 250, 000 nautical miles in total. OCEARCH is a non-profit that facilitates and supports shark research throughout the world’s oceans.

Richard Dawkins (Author: “An Appetite for Wonder: The Making of a Scientist”)

Richard Dawkins, is an English ethologist, evolutionary biologist, author, and a Fellow of the Royal Society, and of the Royal Society of Literature. He is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford and from 1995-2008 was the University of Oxford’s Professor for Public Understanding of Science. He is an atheist and president of the British Humanist Association. Dawkins is famous for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design. His memoir An Appetite for Wonder: The Making of a Scientist chronicles hhiss earlier days, from his childhood until the writing of The Selfish Gene.

Atoms for Peace (Album: “Amok”)

Atoms for Peace is an experimental rock band founded by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke. The group is a collaboration of musicians, the most famous of which include bassist Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead), Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.), and Mauro Refosco. Their debut album is titled Amok.

Robin Williams (Comedian / Actor: “The Crazy Ones”)

Robin Williams is an American actor, voice actor, and comedian. He initially rose to fame on the 1978 series Mork and Mindy as Mork, an alien who lands on Earth. Since then, he has had a prodigious career in film, starring in movies such as Good Will Hunting, The Fisher King, The Dead Poets Society, Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Hook. He has also performed many stand-up comedy tours since the 70s and 80s including his comedy tours Robin Williams: At the Met and Weapons of Self Destruction. Williams has performed in theater, on Broadway in Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo  and in the Lincoln Center’s production of Waiting for Godot. He stars in the upcoming CBS series The Crazy Ones as Simon Roberts, an advertising executive in Chicago who works with his daughter Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar).
