It was Jimmy Kimmel’s 50th birthday on Monday night, and what better way to celebrate than a special Jimmy Kimmel edition of ‘Mean Tweets’, featuring Ray Romano, Halle Berry, Howard Stern, Chris Hemsworth, Liam Neeson, Larry David, Kim Kardashian West, David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and more!
For those unable to watch the clip, Stephen read the following tweet:
“@JimmyKimmel You’re a piece of sh*t. Your job is to pollute the airwaves with your worthless bullshit. F*ck off, you big giant turd”
And concluded with a grin, saying “I think this guy follows me, too.“

When news stories fall through the cracks, we here at Colbert News Hub find them for a post we call, In The Press.
Hey hubsters! We’re back again with the articles you might have missed in June. In this edition, A.V. Club published the second part of its oral history of Comedy Central with a nice portion on The Colbert Report. There are interesting interviews with some of the other late-night hosts and their staff, as well as discussion about a particularly ‘bad week’ The Late Show had last month. On the bright side, Meryl Streep is apparently a big fan, and Stephen’s interview with Bill O’Reilly got props from the media!

Hello hubsters, and Happy New Year! I know we’re already well into January, but, with the holidays and a busy beginning of the year, it took a little bit of extra time to put this December edition together. It’s a really good edition, though! There are some really great articles, and there’s the very special fact-checked ratings myth-busting you’ve all been waiting for. So, let’s get to it!

David Itzkoff recently interviewed David Letterman for The New York Times, in which Dave spoke about how the ‘Late Show’ has developed over the years, why he and the show never participated in social media, how it feels to be “surrounded by Jimmy’s”, and what he will do once his time as host of the ‘Late Show’ comes to an end.
Surprisingly, when asked about his involvement in choosing a successor, Dave reveals that he was never consulted in the decision to hire Stephen Colbert, nor was he asked who he might like to succeed him.

Stephen Colbert made his CBS debut last night as host of the 37th Annual Kennedy Center Honors. While Stephens role was largely to open and close the show, he did briefly appear on stage with David Letterman, who was on hand to and to introduce Tom Hanks, as the pair made a fleeting reference to upcoming transition which will take place on the “Late Show” in 2015.

On the Season 1 finale of “Last Week Tonight” John Oliver covered a news story about a company which has constructed a “salmon cannon” to fire salmon over a damn wall to help them on their way up stream to spawn.
Naturally John and the crew constructed their very own “salmon cannon”, but instead of firing the ‘stupid fish that doesn’t know how rivers work’ up stream, he fired salmon into the face of just about every television personality he knows, from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, David Letterman, Wanda Sykes, Tom Hanks and even poor old Homer Simpson and R2D2 took walloping.

July 4th weekend is here. Stephen and the crew’s two week vacation is halfway done. I know I’ve seen some nice pics on social media from some of Stephen’s crew of their vacations and it looks as if they’re getting away from the stress of the show. That’s a good thing. I hope everyone’s official launch into summer is a good one. Be careful with those fireworks!
In this part deux of Summer’s Here, we have some talks with comedy writers, we have some more talks about comedy writing and then just in case you are still wanting more stuff about writing, BOOM! There it is, just like magic!
