Normally, my husband doesn’t watch the show with me. He likes Stephen enough, but like the Highlander, there can only be one obsessive Colbert fan in the house. Last night he decided to join me, and I asked him why. “Because [the show] makes you happy,” he said. He always tunes into the really notable episodes, and this one was for sure. We had the triumphant return of Jon Stewart to the Colbert landscape, a stunt filled extravaganza with Bruce Willis (who, at 60, is looking amazing!), Stephen’s hilarious Confessions segment, and finally, my favorite, Stephen teaching us all about the metaphors in Moby Dick while being blasted on a roller coaster. For the post-coaster hair alone, that’s enough entertainment right there.

I will be putting up an episode guide for you shortly, but let us know your thoughts on the show in the comments!

Monologue

Be sure to tweet your Congressmen #worstresponders to support the extension of the Zadroga Act!

Jon has made it a personal mission to see 9/11 first responders suffering from horrible work-related illnesses properly compensated.

Stephen’s Midnight Confessions II

Stephen requests absolution, for transgressions like eating a pizza with tic tacs on it. Gross!

Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis and Stephen get into it during the interview, which leads to Stephen’s stuntman getting pummeled.

Stephen Gets a “Moby Dick” Lesson on a Rollercoaster

Stephen busts out the awesome to talk about the relevant themes in the classic Moby Dick with renowned classics scholar Andrew Delbanco. The conversation was precipitated by the release of a new Ron Howard film, In the Heart of the Sea, upon which the story of Moby Dick is based. To make the interview exciting for a “network-TV audience,” Mr. C proposes to hold said interview on the frightening-looking Six Flags roller coaster, “Nitro.”

Lizzo – “Ain’t I”

Hip hop artist Lizzo and a posse of hot chicks shows up to perform “Ain’t I” (a woman.) Beautiful and fierce, she gave the correct reaction after finishing her performance on The Late Show by jumping up and down and giving Stephen a bear hug. She and her ladies look beautiful.
