Welcome to Fan Art, where we highlight the glorious manifestations of Stephen, as rendered by fans and talented artists.
“A while ago I built a Stephen Colbert puppet for season two of my web series Dotboom. The idea was that I would attempt to get the real Stephen Colbert to provide his voice as a guest-star.”
So explains Ontario, Canada based puppeteer Brian Hogg. On his behance website, Mr. Hogg details his concerted effort to both build this adorable puppet and create a groundswell of support to get our fearless host to lend his voice for his “Stephen Colbert Puppet Challenge.” Although Hogg was unsuccessful, the result is charming, don’t you think?
Hogg also created a you tube video in an effort to rally support for his dream guest star.
The puppet is now available for sale on ebay. Pick it up for a piece of Colbert Report inspired memorabilia! And you can also check out Brian’s other fantastic puppets and sketches on behance.
What do you think of the puppet? Is this a fair homage to Stephen? Let us know in the comments. All of this talk of puppets makes me want to watch Being John Malkovich again. Or maybe Sesame Street.
