The time has come for cancer to be added to the Zadroga Act as a covered impairment. In the past several months we have seen policemen, firemen, construction workers and others fall victim to various forms of this terrible disease. We cannot wait for another to die for the sake of statistical analysis. We cannot wait for while another responder has to decide whether to pay his rent or pay for his cancer medications. We are calling upon NIOSH to immediately add some cancers to the list of covered impairments under the Zadroga Act.
