Democrats Stage Congressional Sit-In For Gun Control
- You wouldn’t want the gridlock to lose its momentum. Don’t let your complete paralysis get in the way of a good stalemate.

Hillary Clinton Questions Donald Trump’s Business Record
We then move on to what will likely be a daily ritual, the tit-for-tat between Trump and Hillary. Honestly, I think this presidential race is dead on arrival. Trump is getting “stupider before our eyes,” according to Stephen’s friend and self-made billionaire Mark Cuban.
- It’s too bad C-Span cut off those cameras, because they were the only ones in America not pointed at Donald Trump. This morning, with his poll numbers dropping, he gave a very fiery speech that some are calling an attempt to reset his campaign. They had to reset it, they kept getting the error message:
Trump: “[Hillary] has virtually done right. She has virtually done nothing good.”
- (Stephen mockingly) Also, I invited her to my wedding, she’s a great lady and I love her.
Stephen seizes on a pretty good joke by Mrs. Clinton to mock her sometimes awkward, well, awkwardness.
Clinton: [Trump] has written a lot of books about business. They all seem to end in Chapter 11.
- (Stephen mockingly) I did a humor. My advisors say that mirth is very humanizing. And we are enjoying it together.
Setting the Record Straight on Frog Genitals
Finally, Stephen revisits a topic from last week; namely, the legal department at CBS is pretty spineless. Even less spine-y than amphibians.
Stephen & Team figure out a clever way to get around Standards and Practices and show Frog Sex, I mean Frog Tandem Skydiving, after all. Small victories!
- Look at the size of the area they blurred! Good Lord! Our censors are being very generous to Kermit here.
- Now I am not attacking CBS’ Standards & Practices department, they’re just good people doing their jobs, is what it says on the prompter for me to read here. But I am genuinely confused by this.
- Believe it or not, the discussion of whether or not we could show this to you reached all the way up to the head CBS lawyer, who said in this actual email…and I quote, “Animals don’t f**k on CBS.”
- When did CBS decide that’s a rule? It must have been a particularly graphic episode of Lassie.
- Since this is only a line drawing, frogs have no external genitalia, and you can’t even see anything when it’s not blurred, I think the only reason the network blurred this was because I said it was a picture of frogs having sex. I guess we’ll never know.

The Orange is the New Black star sits down to talk about her origins as a track star, becoming an actress, and her Nigerian heritage. She has great chemistry with Stephen, and there are significant giggling fits throughout the interview. Guests cracking up left and right has been a common theme in the interviews lately.
Uzo Aduba: I realized when I leave [University] I am going to be an actor. And that’s what I pursued. And it was a tough road, but I think playing sports and the preparation of “sometimes you win, sometimes you lose,” “on any given Sunday can be your day” really prepared me to be out here to pursue this. And I’m grateful to have done it because it’s been amazing.
Old Stalwart Friend of the Show Neil DeGrasse Tyson is up, replete with his trademark vest, to talk up the exciting “Strawberry Moon,”and the moon cycles in general. It’s hilarious when corrects Stephen that the rotating moon graphic on the back panel should not be rotating (from Earth’s perspective), and when Stephen accidentally holds a picture of the moon upside down. These corrections drive Stephen crazy!
Finally, our third! African-American guest of the night (yay!) is musician Adia Victoria, who sings and accompanies herself on guitar with a full band.
At the end of the show, Jon Stewart surprises Stephen in the stairwell, and general adorableness ensues.
