Erin Burnett Sings In Awkward Effort To Challenge Stephen Colbert.
Last night on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert spent the better part of the first half of his show mocking a late-night failure by Erin Burnett to properly “flick” a graphic from one touchscreen to another. It quickly got Burnett’s attention, apparently, as she had a few corrections for the fake news host tonight– and a challenge for him to come flick along with her.
Recapping the Colbert segment, Burnett played it and turned to the end, where he showed an image of her and asked “CNN, is this your graphic?” Apparently, Burnett explained, it’s not: it’s a CNBC photo from 2005. She understood why he would make that mistake, she explained: “you were excited about your new toy, forgot you were a pretend journalist for a segment.” But Burnett wasn’t looking for a struggle against Colbert, as she defined the “truthiness” to be, and used a Michael Jackson song to make her point: “I want to flick with you.” So it wasn’t so much a confrontational challenge as an invitation to hang out and learn about each other’s flicking abilities (though not so much the part that involves flushing Burnett down a virtual toilet connected to the Colbert Report logo).

What do Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart have in common besides hosting two of the smartest, funniest, and award-winningest shows on cable TV? Well, for one thing, they sure do make it on a lot of the same Top 10 lists. For another, they both know how to make a suit look good.
Each year, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert manage to entertain us, inspire us, and maybe, even teach us a thing or three. Each year, we aren’t the only ones who notice. Here’s a round up of the various publications who’ve honored our boys throughout the year. They each get a hearty “tip of the hat” from the Hub!

Anderson Cooper has put Stephen Colbert back on his “RidicuList” after Monday night’s “Mysteries of the Ancient Unknown – 2012 End of Times”.
Cooper’s beef with Colbert – that AC306 aired multiple segments on William Tapley’s Denver International Airport phallus theories way back in June, and that The Colbert Report used some of the same footage six months later in their own December 5th segment.
What Cooper’s “RidicuList” segment forgot to mention is that a team from The Colbert Report actually filmed portions of this segment back on September 16th – four not six months ago.
‘The Colbert Report’ Snooping Around DIA, Looking at Wacky Conspiracy Claims. Posted September 16, 2011, 1:57 pm MT
Producers from The Colbert Report were at Denver International Airport today, taping scenes for an upcoming show on conspiracy theories.
The star of sarcastic news show on Comedy Central, Stephen Colbert, was not on the premises, said Jeff Green, airport spokesman.
Green, being the stalwart communications man that he is, did not want to give away The Colbert Report’s plot and would only say the crew was there to investigate “conspiracy theories tied to the Denver International Airport.”

Cannes. Toronto. Park City, Utah. If these cities can each be the home of a great film festival, then why not Montclair, N.J.? Isn’t it entitled to a little bit of that cinematic luster, too?
“Is it entitled to it?” Stephen Colbert, the late-night comedian and Montclair resident, asked rhetorically. “I think every town is entitled to anything that they want to do.” He added: “Small communities that dream big like this, I think they should be encouraged to. Everything that people are willing to come together to work hard on and create, they can.”
The event that has Mr. Colbert, who plays the satirically stubborn host of Comedy Central’s “Colbert Report,” in an inspirational mood is the Montclair International Film Festival, a celebration of fiction and documentary moviemaking that will be held for the first time from May 2 through 6.
The festival, whose board of directors includes Mr. Colbert and his wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert, took another step closer to fruition with the announcement that it had hired Raphaela Neihausen and Thom Powers to oversee its programming lineup. Mr. Powers and Ms. Neihausen, a who run the Stranger Than Fiction documentary series and the DOC NYC festival at the IFC Center in New York, are expected to help select about 25 features for the inaugural Montclair festival. Their appointment is to be officially announced on Friday at a benefit event at the Wellmont Theater, where Mr. Colbert will be interviewed by the journalist Jonathan Alter.

Who would Julie Bowen Claire Dunphy have an affair with? Stephen Colbert of course!! (6.15)
Or Hugh Laurie if he were to walk across the lot and visit the “Modern Family” set.

In “Four Questions with ’30 Rocks’ Alec Baldwin”, Alec is asked “What would Jack Donaghy’s favourite Comedy Central show be?” The answer of course is ‘The Colbert Report’.
As Tina Fey herself has said, the only thing keeping Jon and Stephen from guest starring on ’30 Rock’ is a scheduling conflict, perhaps a visit to ‘The Report’ by Jack Donaghy is in order.
As for a ‘Colbert Network’ – perhaps the greatest idea ever – what would you call it?
