Site News: Social Media, Videos and Updates.

G’day Hubsters,

Our apologies to those who are have been experiencing difficulties accessing the site and up voting comments. We are aware that there is a problem, and are working hard behind-the-scenes to find a solution. If you are experiencing any other problems with the site, please feel free to shoot us an email, or leave a comment below.

In an effort to de-clutter and snazzy up the home page, I have installed a new widget that combines ‘Recent Comments’ and ‘Recent Posts’ into a tabbed box. Simply click on ‘Recent Comments’ or ‘Recent Posts’ to toggle between the two.

Colbert Video Clips

In lieu of Stephen’s upcoming appearance on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’, I have been receiving concerned emails from Hubsters, Lurkers and general fans that the complete interview, much like Stephen’s last appearance on ‘Live with Kelly’ will never emerge in its entirety online.

While I can assure you that the Hub Staff do all they can to track down these elusive clips, we sadly do not possess the know-how or technology to convert TiVo or DVR content into a video clip that you are able to play on your computer and/or upload to YouTube or similar.

My aim is that at least someone on the Hub Staff has a copy of Stephen’s various interviews and appearances, so that, if worse comes to worse we can at least post a transcript, and maybe a few screen caps.

This is where you come into play. If you, or someone you know has the knowledge and technology to make this happen, we would very much like it if you could join the Hub Staff as our official Videographer.

If you are interested in the position, know someone who may be able to help out, or have any useful information on how we can do it ourselves, please send an email to:

Live Chats

One of my favourite times of the Hub Year is our annual Emmy Awards Live Chat. Even though I generally am multi-tasking to the max, it is a nice chance to chat with Hubsters I would never otherwise have any contact with, other than the occasional hot Tip in my inbox. Whether you plan to watch the Emmy’s or not, please feel free to join in and just have a fun chat with fellow Hubsters. As much as I hate having to post the same results every year, I generally am keen to see what Jimmy Kimmel has to offer as the evenings host, especially now that we know to expect ‘the biggest prank ever in Emmy history’. Seems wardrobe malfunctions are not the only thing TVs who’s who has to fear this year!!

My question is this. Who would be interested in having more live chats throughout the year for special occasions or during special events?

I was thinking we could perhaps have another one on October 17th, marking TCR’s birthday and/or one for ‘Night of Too Many Stars’.

Social Media

For the social media fans out there, good news! We are now on:
Pinterest | Instagram | flickr | Vimeo

Please remember to bookmark this pages, as they are not all listed on our home page!!

Our flickr and Vimeo accounts are more so places to favourite any Colbert/Stewart related content, so that it is easy Hubster and Hub Staff alike to locate clips and images when they need them.

Instagram will be much the same, but with the occasional photo from us. It is more of an events archive, there are plenty of photos in our favourites from Fordham and the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, that have not been posted on the site. Of course, it being Instagram they are not always the greatest quality, but for those who haven’t been to the show, even a blurry pic of the famous blue awning is enough to brighten the day.

We will be most active on Pinterest. I am in the process of creating boards to collect like photos in the same place for ease of access. For example, there are boards for ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ appearances, ‘Night of Too Many Stars’, ‘Magazine Covers’. It is a work of progress, but still a great place for a quick eye candy hit.

Well that about wraps it up for this edition of ‘Site News’. I hope to see you all at our Emmy Awards Live Chat, pease don’t forget to RSVP. And if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns regarding the site, please feel to express them in the comments below, or shoot myself or another staff member an email!!
