Welcome to the ‘Six Degrees Catch Up Edition’ featuring all the latest happenings and goings on in the world of ‘Daily Show’ and ‘Colbert Report’ staff and ‘Friends of the Show’.
In this month’s catch up we have a new comedy album from Paul Mecurio, interviews with Michael Brumm, Steve Carell and Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon has a new ice cream flavour, the Second City shares a clip from Steve Carell’s graduation, and Conan goes to Cuba!
The Colbert Report
- Michael Brumm was recently a guest on ‘Caffeinated Comics‘ where he spoke about his beginnings in Chicago improv, his move to New York and Madison Avenue advertising, and the day to day routine at ‘The Colbert Report’.
Six Degrees
- Conan O’Brien was recently a guest on ‘The Daily Show‘ where he spoke about his recent trip to Cuba, which almost didn’t happen. But thanks to some friendly Canadians, Conan and crew were let into the country where they shot the up coming special, ‘Conan in Cuba’, which will air on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015.
- While out on the promotional tour for ‘Conan in Cuba’, Conan O’Brien stopped by ‘The Howard Stern Show‘. The fantastic and lengthy interview covers Conan’s entire career, from his college days and struggles with depression, to writing for ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘The Simpsons’, and his decision to rebuild his TBS show ‘Conan’, rather than continue with the bits that made him a house hold name on NBC.
- Ben & Jerry’s recently unveiled Jimmy Fallon’s second ice cream flavour, “The Tonight Dough” which combines chocolate and caramel ice creams with chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough and a crunchy chocolate cookie swirl.
- Steve Carell was recently a guest on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman‘ where he spoke about being a first time Oscar nominee (he lost to Eddie Redmayne), and shared an online critic’s review of his first sitcom role in ‘Over the Top’ (ABC). The review was so harsh that Stephen Colbert offered the critic a job as a writer on ‘The Colbert Report’.
- The Second City has posted a new clip from their archives featuring Steve Carell performing at his graduation ceremony.
