Almost a year ago, a team of students took up ‘The Super PAC Super Fun Pack Treasure Hunt’ challenge, documenting their journey’s as they cracked the clues and hunted for treasure, the grand prize, apart from making a lot of pirates very jealous was, a visit from Stephen Colbert.

It has been a long wait for the students at the University of Pittsburgh, but Stephen Colbert finally appeared before excited an excited crowd at Carnegie Hall on Friday, April 19th. After being given a custom Pitt Jersey and hat, Stephen opened by reading a selection of topics from ‘America Again’, including getting a job, Wall Street, food and Matthew McConaughey. The session was closed out with a lively Q & A session covering everything from favourite guests, getting into character, Jon Stewart, Elizabeth Colbert Busch’s congressional campaign, SuperPAC’s, Presidents and Roman Emperors.

Comedian Stephen Colbert is hosting two expensive fundraisers on behalf of his sister Elizabeth Colbert Busch. Tickets to both events run as high as $10,000 and include both an exclusive private reception and a general reception, according to invites obtained by POLITICO.

Last night former Governor Mark Sanford clinched the SC-1 GOP nomination over Curt Bostic, and now more than ever Elizabeth will need stuffed coffers to put up a fight against Sanford, who is determined to make a political comeback in the wake of his personal scandals as governor. In light of all of this, Stephen’s timing in hosting the fundraisers couldn’t be better. These events will surely be aided by the attendance of so many of Elizabeth’s would-be democratic colleagues in the House. They must be fired up and ready to go to get a democratic victory in this race! As polling has Colbert Busch and Sanford in a statistical dead heat in this deeply red district, the Dems surely see a great opportunity to turn it blue.

Our favourite Middle Earth fan boy participated in ‘The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Live Event’, sending in a video asking Peter Jackson a complex question about portraying the differentiation of Elves in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’. And Peter has a question for Stephen …

I had no intention of attending this year’s 25th anniversary gala event benefiting Chicago’s Lookingglass Theatre, or “gglasquerade,” held on March 2, 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, but about a week prior some obstacles preventing me from attending cleared up, and I found myself making arrangements to go. Tickets were not made available until the last minute, and I didn’t have a “date.” I reached out to an old friend, who coincidentally lives close to hotel and was more than excited to see Stephen and attend the gala.

Lookingglass Theatre’s Board of Directors and Gala Committee announce one of Chicago’s highly anticipated events of the season, the 2013 Lookingglass gglassquerade, which will celebrate 25 years of ensemble collaboration, transformation and invention. Host Stephen Colbert, of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, will be presented with the Lookingglass Civic Engagement Award at the event. gglassquerade will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at The Four Seasons, 120 East Delaware Place in Chicago.

“The fact that Stephen is uncannily brilliant, desperately funny, and irritatingly good-looking is not particularly important, or something we should hold against him (but we do so anyway),” quips Artistic Director Andrew White. “What is important is from his early days doing improv with Lookingglass founders at Northwestern to his current role as host of the award-winning show The Colbert Report, Stephen has been a great friend to Lookingglass and a champion of, and ambassador for, the City of Chicago. We are so pleased to have him as the host of our 25th Anniversary gglassquerade and to present to him the Lookingglass Civic Engagement Spirit Award.”
