Stephen Colbert and Mindy Kaling making us laugh (and nod!) “It’s not just the Mindy Project, it’s the Mindy Pro-JECT,” said Colbert, introducing Mindy Kaling. “We want what Mindy has.” That couldn’t have been more true last night, as Kaling took the stage in a gorgeous blue dress and reminded us why we love her so much. “Nothing could make me happier than young girls wanting to grow up to be me,” she told the crowd. She added that she hopes there will be many more success stories like hers, so that it’s no longer newsworthy when a person who happens to be a woman who happens to be a minority achieves her level of success. Her life motto? “Why not me?” Feel free to borrow that one.
