BlackBerry have become the first smartphone to add the raised eyebrow emoji, popularly known as the Stephen Colbert emoji, to its BBM App.
Speaking on the emoji, Inside BlackBerry’s Mike Mitchell says, ‘It only makes sense that the company to invent the smartphone would be the first to add an emoji nicknamed after a fellow originator. I see Stephen Colbert and BlackBerry much the same. Both have large cult-like followings (#TeamBlackBerry, anyone?) and both dare to be different and stand out from the pack by being unique.’
Having recieved approval from the Unicode Consortium, users of other platforms can expect to see the emoji released on Android and iOS soon. For users with BB10, the emoji will be available with the next BBM update.
