Stephen sits down again with Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Norah O’Donnell to talk up his favorite charity, DonorsChoose, the comedic ripeness of the Trump campaign, and why so many women are throwing themselves at him on the Late Show couch.
Our fearless host has been a board member of DonorsChoose since 2009, and you may recall him using the proceeds of items he auctioned from the Report set and flash-funding all the South Carolina school projects last spring. This year, Stephen announces that more than 50 notable folk will be following suit, flash-funding projects in various regions to the tune of $14 million.
Today, on #BestSchoolDay, co-founder of Google Sergey Brin and WhatsApp founder Brian Acton will match public donations up to $3.2 million dollars. So get on DonorsChoose, pick a school that’s near and dear to your heart, and today’s donation will really go far.
Update: Stephen will be guest-tweeting from @HuffingtonPost today to help grease the ol’ money wheels:
Greetings, HuffPostles! @StephenAtHome here, taking over @HuffingtonPost until Arianna changes the password. #123456 #BestSchoolDay
— Huffington Post (@HuffingtonPost) March 10, 2016
Update II: #BestSchoolDay has been extended until Friday, March 11th. Any donation you make will be matched by the mega-donors. The likelihood of projects getting funded (which can be tough) is greatly increased with matching drives like this one, so be sure to take part, if you are able.
