Last night, the present and future met when Stephen Colbert stopped by ‘The Late Show’ for his first appearance since it was announced that he would take over hosting duties from David Letterman some time in 2015. “You look right at home,” David Letterman joked before Stephen revealed that he almost twice worked for Letterman in the past, after being offered an internship in 1986, and in 1997 after he and writing partner Paul Dinello got a call back, but decline as work had already started on ‘Strangers with Candy’. After taking a quick selfie with Dave, Stephen read the Top 10 he submitted back in 1997, entitled ‘The Top 10 Cocktails for Santa’. The two also discussed pets, families, vacations and building a boat with a broken wrist.
