The Latest News on Sponsoring the South Carolina Primaries.

The State (South Carolina’s Homepage™) recently had an emailed conversation with Mr. Colbert to follow up with the op-ed written by Stephen Colbert and published just before the holiday break. In their new article, titled, “Colbert: ‘We Sponsor Bowl Games; Why Not the Primary?’” by Andrew Shain, they give us the skinny on Stephen’s wheelings and dealings down south.

Why not just give the money to the Election Commission and bypass the state GOP so the money can go to the counties without party interference?

That’s exactly what I offered in my editorial. You should really read your own paper sometime. If you can’t afford the cover price, you can get the whole thing online for free!

Would you be willing to give the money without getting the naming rights and non-binding referendum?

I’m open to other offers of equal or greater value!

Why not just give the money without any strings if you want to help counties that are struggling financially?

I wouldn’t want to insult the Republican primary by offering a handout. I believe in the free market; that’s why I’m not even giving you these answers for free. Expect my invoice in the mail.

If not the naming rights and referendum, I would settle for holding “The Stephen Colbert South Carolina Serious, Classy Republican Debate.” Moderated by me and the Dog Whisperer. Nat Geo Wild, Animal Planet and Buddy Roemer are all on board. You pass on this, I’m offering it to Florida.
