Eagle eyed viewers in the Venice, California area may have noticed election signage eerily similar to the The Colbert Report’s logo, which begs the question: who’s riding Stephen’s coattails now?
It seems that Mr. Steve Collett, a CPA, businessman, libertarian, and fellow Steph(v)en is running for California’s new 33rd Congressional District. Clearly he has attempted to harness the “Colbert Bump,” perhaps hoping to but touch it’s cloak for a bit of good luck. Not sure if that’s going to work, but on Mr. Collett’s campaign website he is seen posing with friend of the show Gary Johnson, so let’s wish him well.
What do you think? Is it sacrilege to even attempt a graphic passing somewhat as TCR’s likeness? After all, a few letter switches and their names are pretty much the same.
