David Itzkoff recently interviewed David Letterman for The New York Times, in which Dave spoke about how the ‘Late Show’ has developed over the years, why he and the show never participated in social media, how it feels to be “surrounded by Jimmy’s”, and what he will do once his time as host of the ‘Late Show’ comes to an end.
Surprisingly, when asked about his involvement in choosing a successor, Dave reveals that he was never consulted in the decision to hire Stephen Colbert, nor was he asked who he might like to succeed him.

We here at the Hub have been excitedly scanning the web for news of writers (and, well, anyone) joining the staff The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and it’s nice to see some women getting the coveted spots. The newest hire is Jen Spyra, who is currently a senior writer and editorial video producer at The Onion.
According to her bio, she, like Stephen, is a Northwestern University alumna and is also a fellow improviser, having performed at iO L.A.and Chicago. She also indicates having standup comedy chops, which should come in handy. It’s great to see all these super smart improvisery people joining the staff! It makes a fan pumped up for the Colbert-related times to come.

On Monday nights episode of ‘The Daily Show‘, Jon Stewart announced the date of his final episode as host. After more than 16 years as host, Jon will sign off for the final time on August 6th, 2015, saying “I will be wearing a suit. I will more than likely be showered.” Responding to the disappointment of the studio audience, he added: “I’m sorry’ I will be wearing overalls and I won’t shower. So I hope that you will join us for that program.”
Jon also informed viewers that they can win tickets to the taping of his final show by going to Omaze.
‘The New York Times‘ reports that “Comedy Central said ‘The Daily Show’ would go on hiatus for the rest of summer after Mr. Stewart’s departure and relaunch with Mr. Noah some time in the fall. A start date for Mr. Noah has not been announced.”

Official event photos from “Salute from the Chief” a special Twilight Tattoo hosted by Army Chief of Staff General Ray Odierno. The event, held inside Conmy Hall at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Virgina on April 14th, 2015, recognises five Americans – D. Scott Davis, Bud Selig, Morrill Worcester, Matthew Zames, and Stephen Colbert – for their outstanding service in support of the United States Army.
While at the event, Stephen Colbert also stopped to try his hand at playing the fife with the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.
