Stephen Colbert will interview former president Bill Clinton on April 6, representing the first time Clinton has appeared on ‘The Colbert Report’. The interview will occur in front of 1,000 college and university students during the closing session of the Clinton Global Initiative University and will air during the week of April 8 on Comedy Central. “I am thrilled and honored to be interviewing President Clinton, and I assume he is aware this is happening,” says Colbert, who’s hosting the closing session of the CGI U at Washington University in St. Louis, set to take place between April 5 and April 7.
The CGI U is an offshoot of the Clinton Global Initiative, which the former president founded in order to bring together political dignitaries, Fortune 500 CEOs and other influencers to help create solutions for the world’s biggest concerns. CGI U adds up-and-coming, college-aged leaders to the mix. Colbert’s interview with Clinton will air during a special CGI-themed episode of The Colbert Report, though no exact date has been announced.
