2011 has been an incredible ride for we chronic appreciators of TCR, and without question the successful establishment of Colbert SuperPAC has not only poised Stephen ever more closely to the gearbox of America’s political machine, but also created some of the most poignant satirical moments the show has ever achieved. And we’ve only just begun: undoubtedly, with the Republican primaries ramping up this January, the SuperPAC will only continue to influence events in ways yet to be seen.

Maria Teresa Kumar from “Politics Nation with Al Sharpton” awarded Stephen Colbert the “2011 Revvie Award” for “Best Political Performance of the Year” for his faithful support of the US Troops and for breaking down big finance in Government to the American people by establishing a Super Pac (Colbert Super Pac).
Fellow panel members Alex Wagner and Richard Wolffe choose President Barack Obama, with Michael Steele choosing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as deserving of the award.

This post isn’t exactly “A Look Back” in my view, because my suspicion is that “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” is destined to become an annual tradition for many, many years to come for all Colbert fans. It’s hard to pinpoint what makes this special so great, be it the well-written music, or Stephen’s gleeful performance, but my guess is on the celebrity collaborations we see throughout, particularly with Jon Stewart and Elvis Costello.
