They really have a knack for character descriptions over at The Colbert Report. Scott Pelley just has to be a Century 21 real estate agent masquerading as a newsman. He must be. And Will Forte can play him in the movie.

“Did you go to journalism school, Pelley? Remember the five W’s: Who, What, When, Where, and Wang.”

The Word did not disappoint last night. I can identify a little too well with the Katy Perry song reference. I could not stand “ET” the first time I heard it and now I find myself turning it up and dancing around whenever I hear it on the radio. whyyyyy

“It is clearly possible to be radicalized by hearing just one speech. Because radicals are like Katy Perry. You hear her new song, you swear you don’t like it, then the next thing you know you’re singing Teenage Dream in front of your interns, and you just bought yourself a court-ordered apology.”

“We haven’t stopped them from acquiring nuclear centrifuges, but we have cut off their access to tap dance technology. Kim Jong Il may rule his people with an iron fist, but now he’ll never be able to crush them with a jazz hand.”

Stephen’s jazz hand reminded me of this little clip from an alternate universe where the Statue of Liberty is bronze, riding in airships is a chief mode of travel, and Stephen Colbert hosts The Daily Show.

“Here in America, it is all about the tap.”

Stephen wins!

Finally, Sugar Ray Leonard sure is a cutie. Such an honest interview from both Sugar Ray and Stephen. And so much more coherent than the Werner Herzog interview. Which leaves me with a question: Which is better? Stephen’s tap dancing, or Sugar Ray’s paso doble? Discuss.
