Welcome to Better Know a Guest, your weekly guide to the wonderful and diverse array of personalities appearing on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ each week.

Welcome back, Hubsters! It has been nine long months since Stephen Colbert bid us adieu on The Colbert Report. He told us, “I know weʼll meet again some sunny day.” Since then, we have listened to his podcasts, watched his videos, read his interviews, laughed at his amazing promos, and waited with bated breath for him to return to our televisions. Nation, the This is our sunny day!

The premiere week kicks off with an amazing line up of guests – from actors to politicians to musicians and more. The very first episode of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert will be an historic moment in late night television. First, Stephen talks to the handsome and altruistic George Clooney. Guest number two is Republican presidential candidate, Jeb Bush. Will Stephen discuss his roasting of Jebʼs brother at the 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner? I, for one, hope so! After that, we are in for a treat of many surprise musical guests.

Letʼs get it started! Here are your guests for the premiere week. Who are you looking forward to? What are your hopes for the new show? Be sure to leave us comment below.

When news stories fall through the cracks, we here at Colbert News Hub find them for a post we call, In The Press.

Hello again Hubsters! April is here, which means that, if Colbert Report writer Micheal Brumm is to be believed, Stephen’s team will start working on Late Show very soon!

The two big stories in March were the premiere of The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS, and the announcement that Trevor Noah will replace Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show. In this edition you’ll also find talk of SuperPACs, Kendrick Lamar’s performance on The Colbert Report, late night musical bookers, the technology behind our beloved fake news shows, as well as an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

This was my sixth time going to see the show and by far the most emotional and the most eagerly anticipated. I was so anxious about it that I actually have two reporTs to…um…reporT.

My BONUS Special Taping report: December 16, 2014.

When we got to the studio, they announced that they weren’t going to be able to use the studio due to some sort of emergency that they didn’t get into. They bussed us over to another place, a classroom at a college. They had to cancel the musical guest due to the change and they did a round table panel discussion instead and were going to have a bunch of pundit-types for guests. They only let ticket holders in; no guests of ticket holders and no standby.

Welcome to Better Know a Guest, your weekly guide to the wonderful and diverse array of personalities appearing on ‘The Colbert Report’ and ‘The Daily Show’ each week.

Hello, Colbert News Hub!  So this is it.  I’m sure plenty of the show this week will be dedicated to celebrating the last nine years, and probably some massive foreshadowing by Grimmy, Thursday’s special guest.  But the guest list suggests that it’ll be somewhat business as usual, and in that vein we can expect to see some stories about the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests, the CIA torture report, sliding oil prices, and Jeb Bush’s 2016 presidential campaign ramping up.  And if they’re looking for something fun, there is now a scientific study that definitively explains why waiting room magazines are so crappy (people steal only the good ones!)

The end is bittersweet.  This last week will be exciting, especially as we find out how Grimmy brings “Stephen” to his fate.  But it’s also sad, because without the Report guests who’s going to teach us how cool the Stanford Marshmallow Test is, or make us think about how much Canada weighs?  I’ve learned so much from these interviews over the years, and I hope that Late Show can remain a platform for authors and professors and artists as much as actors and musicians and politicians.  But meanwhile, here’s to an excellent last week!

Stephen’s guests this week are an actor, a musician, a writer, and the Grim Reaper.  Jon’s are a director, a musician, an actress, and a comedian.  Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments!

Truthiness be told, the Nation will bear witness as Stephen hosts the remaining four episodes of “The Colbert Report” during the week of December 15, with the final show to air on Thursday, December 18 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Said Colbert, “Our last week of shows are going to be really special, just like every other week.”

Guests scheduled to appear next week include an interview with Seth Rogen promoting his new film “The Interview” (12/15); an interview and musical performance by Kendrick Lamar (12/16); and an interview with veteran and author Phil Klay, discussing Redeployment, for which he won the 2014 National Book Award for Fiction (12/17). The Report’s final guest will be Stephen’s colleague and lifelong friend, Grimmy (12/18).

Comedy Central will air a marathon of classic episodes of “The Colbert Report” from throughout the show’s nine year history from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Thursday, December 18.
