Jon Stewart’s directorial debut ‘Rosewater‘ will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital HD on February 10, 2015.

Based on the memoir of Iranian Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari, ‘Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity, and Survival‘ the film chronicles Bahari’s family history, and his arrest and 118-day imprisonment following the controversial 2009 Iran presidential election.

A movie tie-in-edition of the book has also been released, ‘Rosewater (Movie Tie-in Edition): A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity, and Survival‘

Jon Stewart will be a guest on the “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.

Jon Stewart will be a guest on the “The Colbert Report” on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:30/10:30c on Comedy Central.

While promoting Rosewater, Jon Stewart heaped some fulsome praise on his friend and soon-to-former Comedy Central colleague, Stephen Colbert in a recent interview in New York Magazine. Check out the whole interview for some great insight on all things Jon, but here’s the Stephen-related parts:

You helped launch The Colbert Report. ­Stephen is going to drop the character when he moves to The Late Show, so what will he bring that people haven’t seen?

A raging drug habit.

Excuse me?

People have no idea. It’s going to be Breaking Colbert.

I will tune in for that.

Stephen’s talent is very apparent to everybody, but if you’d been to his 50th-birthday party and you saw the love bomb he was surrounded in — I said to my wife, “I will guarantee you this party spawns a thousand arguments on the drive home.” Everybody got in the car that night with their spouse and it was, “Why don’t you love me like people love Stephen?!” Or, “Why can’t you be a kindhearted and good individual like Stephen Colbert!?” It was one of those magical nights, filled with the warmth and affection of friends and family. I just think viewers are really going to enjoy getting to know Stephen.

‘Rosewater’ will be unveiled on August 29th at the Telluride Film Festival, before heading to the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8th. The film will open in select theaters on November 7th, 2014.
