Welcome to the ‘Six Degrees Catch Up Edition’ featuring all the latest happenings and goings on in the world of ‘Daily Show’ and ‘Colbert Report’ staff and ‘Friends of the Show’.

In this month’s catch up we have interviews from Father James Martin, Jon Stewart, John Hodgman, Jordan Klepper, Samantha Bee and Travon Free, ‘The Tonight Show’ comes to Australian screens, Jason Jones is filming a new pilot, Amy Sedaris will star in a new comedy, Conan O’Brien will host the MTV Movies Awards, J. J. Sedelmaier has written a new article, and Bryan Dinello has released two new tracks.

  • Bryan Dinello aka DJ Spinello has two next mixes out, “Pharrellin’” and “Busta Witness”.
  • Father James Martin will speak at Marquette University’s commencement on May 18th, 2014.
  • J. J. Sedelmaier has a new article in ‘Print Magazine’, entitled “How Walt Disney Used His Kansas City Library Card”.

The Daily Show

  • Jon Stewart will host the fifth annual “Women in the World Summit” on April 4th at New York’s Lincoln Center.
  • The 2013 MusiCares® Gala hosted by Jon Stewart will premiere on Sunday, March 30th at 8PMe / 5PMp on AXS TV. The gala celebrates Bruce Springsteen’s career, while raising funds and awareness for the invaluable programs and services that the MusiCares Foundation® provides to music people in need.
  • Jon Stewart talks with 60 Minutes about Bassem Youssef, “The Jon Stewart of Egypt”.
  • Aasif Mandvi will receive the AALDEF ‘Justice in Action’ Award from the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund at its gala 2014 Justice in Action Awards on March 25th.
  • Jason Jones is set to star in the NBC comedy pilot “Love Is Relative”. Should the series be picked up, Jones will exit his role on ‘The Daily Show’.
  • John Hodgman talks to ‘The Daily Nexus’ about his style of humor, his on-stage persona, his work as a writer, and his new show, “I Stole your Dad”.
  • Jordan Klepper talks to ‘Entertainment Weekly’ about what it is like going from an audition to tapping his first ‘Daily Show’ piece in four days, and names ‘Even Stevphen’ as his favourite ‘Daily Show’ segment.
  • Samantha Bee is featured on ‘Toronto Life’s’,”The List” where she talks about the ten things she can’t live without.
  • Travon Free appears on ‘The Rubin Report’ to discuss President Obama’s leadership ratings, after an international CNN / ORC poll found that the President’s leadership ratings were underwhelming.

Friends of the Show

  • Amy Sedaris will co-star in ‘Dead Boss’, a comedic mystery that finds overachiever Helen Stephens (Jane Krakowski) wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence. Sedaris will play Mary, one of Helen’s nosy, fault-finding co-workers and the gatekeeper to their boss.
  • Conan O’Brien will host the 2014 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 13. “After eight years of intense negotiations, I am honored to announce I am hosting MTV’s second most prestigious awards show.”
  • ABC2 Australia will screen ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon weeks nights at 7:30PM, from Monday, March 24th.
