Congratulations to Jon Batiste, who has been named as Stephen Colbert’s new band leader, on ‘The Late Show‘.
If Jon’s appearance on ‘The Colbert Report‘ last year is anything to go by, we are in for some fun times ahead!

When news stories fall through the cracks, we here at Colbert News Hub find them for a post we call, In The Press.
This month’s edition is unsurprisingly Letterman-heavy. David Letterman ended his 33-year late-night run on a ratings high note, as nearly 14 million people tuned into his last show. His retirement gave the media an opportunity to reflect on the late-night format and its place in American culture.
As for us Colbert fans, we are now entering the final stretch before The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s September premiere. The Ed Sullivan Theater has been cleared and is undergoing renovations; the staff has already started working on the show; Stephen made his first official appearance as Late Show host at the CBS upfront presentation; and the promotion for the show should be starting any time now (the sooner the better!).

Sick in the Head gathers Apatow’s most memorable and revealing conversations into one hilarious, wide-ranging, and incredibly candid collection that spans not only his career but his entire adult life. Here are the comedy legends who inspired and shaped him, from Mel Brooks to Steve Martin. Here are the contemporaries he grew up with in Hollywood, from Spike Jonze to Sarah Silverman. And here, finally, are the brightest stars in comedy today, many of whom Apatow has been fortunate to work with, from Seth Rogen to Amy Schumer. And along the way, something kind of magical happens: What started as a lifetime’s worth of conversations about comedy becomes something else entirely. It becomes an exploration of creativity, ambition, neediness, generosity, spirituality, and the joy that comes from making people laugh.
Loaded with the kind of back-of-the-club stories that comics tell one another when no one else is watching, this fascinating, personal (and borderline-obsessive) book is Judd Apatow’s gift to comedy nerds everywhere.

Crackle have posted the trailer for the upcoming season of ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee‘ hosted by Jerry Seinfeld. Premiering on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 at 11:30 PM on Crackle, the sixth season features Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Bill Maher, Trevor Noah and Stephen Colbert and his glorious and now deceased Colbeard.
Stephen Colbert, addressing the graduating class of Wake Forest University on this beautiful spring day, delighted the crowd with zingers about rival universities Duke and UNC, Wake Forest’s own curious campus traditions, and a few topical jokes for good measure.
In the core message of his speech, interestingly, he likened his own personal transition to The Late Show to the transition to careers the graduates are undertaking. It was a surprising and touching approach:
Stephen Colbert Tells Wake Forest Graduates: “It’s Time to Say Goodbye to the Person We’ve Become
“I just spent many years learning how to do one thing really well. I got so comfortable with that place, that role, those responsibilities that it came to define how I saw myself. But now that part of my life is over. It’s time to say goodbye to the person we’ve become, we’ve worked so hard to perfect, and to make some crucial decisions in becoming who we’re going to be. For me, I’ll have to figure out how to do an hour-long show every night. You at some point will have to sleep. I’m told the Adderall wears off eventually. Good luck.”
