A Look Back: Thanksgiving Edition

Welcome to “A Look Back,” where we review and celebrate select clips from the overwhelmingly voluminous video catalog and the many splendid works of Stephen T. Colbert over the years.

“Everyone be on the lookout for this man.”

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In this edition of “A Look Back,” we are focusing on some great clips from November of 2010. We had a trilogy of videos not of a monkey on the lam, but a truly devious turkey named Joseph Gobbles. We finish up with the epic Martha Stewart interview, in which Stephen regaled us with his time-honored condiment-heavy cuisine.

Stephen Pardons Joseph Gobbles

“This is our last show before Thanksgiving, a magical time of year, when families gather together to raise America’s obesity statistics. Personally, I love Thanksgiving traditions: watching football, making pumpkin pie, and saying the magic phrase that sends your aunt storming out of the dining room to sit in her car.”

“I will not be out-mercifuled! So bring him out boys!”

Joseph Gobbles: Meth Dealer

“Joseph Gobbles, are you dealing meth to my interns? You just sold him crystal meth. I am going to call the cops on you, mister! Wait a minute, I can’t! I pardoned that turkey for all crimes, past, present, and future. You fool, Colbert. You’ve given him a blank check!”

Joseph Gobbles Shoots Jay the Intern

“There’s an armed and murderous turkey on the loose!”

What do you think Joseph Gobbles is up to nowadays? I shudder to think. Comment up and tell us all about what you’re up to this Thanksgiving, and let us know your favourite Colbert Thanksgiving moments!!
